Rating:

There are only three species of amphibians in the islands of the park where there is a dry environment with mixed vegetation and scarce freshwater puddles.

They are the Iberian newts (in Ons and Sálvora), the Spanish painted frog (in Ons and Sálvora) and the common salamander (in the South Island of Cies, Ons and Sálvora).

We must emphasize the salamander of the Atlantic Islands, which although usually puts the larvae in the water (larvae reproduction) in the land giving birth to its offsprings (already metamorphosed) in the land. They are very abundant in Ons, where the specimens have a degree of melanism higher than usual with a predominance of black stains (yellow stains scarce in the body).
