Although the land area of the park is relatively small , 1200 acres, 470 in Ons , there are numerous species of land birds that nest on the various archipelagos of the park and they can also be in summer or wintering migratory path . Among the first ones we must emphasize the existence of prey such as the buzzard , present in all the islands, the goshawk also represented in the four archipelagos , the Kestrel and Peregrine Falcon on the cliffs of Cies and Ons . Among the nocturnal birds we have the presence of the owl in Ons, Sálvora and Cortegada .

Both the alpine swift and nightjar nest on Cies and Ons in the summer and they are present in all the islands. We can also observe swifts and swallows.

The wood pigeon is abundant not like the turtledoves which are more frequent in Cies and Ons.

The woodpeckers are present in all the islands except Sálvora.

Among the corvids we must emphasize the presence of the crow in Cies and Ons , as well as the crow or the less usual jackdaw .

Redstarts, wagtails , wrens, warblers , greenfinches , siskins , goldfinches , robins , blackbirds and blue tits , are not  only in open spaces but also among the bushes or forests.
