In the east part of Ons, on the shores, in the inter-tidal pools, beaches and rocky zones we can often see sedentary migratory birds (summer or winter birds) which find a feeding and rest place like the grey heron, the little egret, the mallard, the common scoter, the oystercatcher, the eurasian dotterel, the kentish plover, the dunlin, archibebes, eurasian curlew and the ruddy turnstone.
Also, on the shores of Melide some kinds of gulls rest like the yellow legged gull, the lesser black backed gull and the black-headed gull. The last one can also be found on rocks.
In the waters next to to the beaches and on the lagoon we will see Europeans shags and sandwich terns overflying them.
