We can see migratory, summer and winter sedentary birds on the children´s lake, on the sea shores, in the intertidal pools, on the beaches, on the rocks and dunes which they use as resting and feeding area. Some of them are the grey heron, the little egret, the mallard, the common scoter, the oystercatcher, the eurasian dotterel, the kentish plover (in the dunes of Rodas), the dunlin, archibebes, eurasian curlew and the ruddy turnstone.
Also,on the shores of Rodas and other sandy areas of Cíes some kinds of gulls rest like the yellow legged gull, the lesser black backed gull and the black-headed gull. The last one can also be found on rocks.
In the waters next to to the beaches and on the lagoon we will see Europeans shags and sandwich terns overflying them.
