These islands are the perfect place for a great variety of species due to the limited human presence, the availability of an appropiate place for the breeding,  the lack of predators and the extraordinary abundance of marine resources, especially for the marine species linked to this habitat because they get their food from the sea. For this reason, they developed specific adaptations to survive in this environment as desalination glands, waterproof plumage and webbed feet.

There are thousands of sea birds that use the cliffs of the islands to nest. There are are some sea birds which nest here and are especially sedentary like the yellow legged gull, the European shag, the Cory´s shearwater, the storm petrel and the Lesser Black-backed Gull.

In the water of the park we can find a great number of sedentary sea birds which do not nest on the islands but depend on their water to survive. These may be summer, winter or migratory sea birds like the Balearic shearwater, the Cory´s shearwater, storm petrels, gannets, the European shag, the common tern, black headed gulls, black-legged kittiwake, great black-backed gulls, skuas, razorbill and common murres.
