Grupo Cerdeimar is the Costa da Morte's oldest company and one of the Galicia's oldest canneries. Andrés Cerdeiras Pose, great-grandfather of the current generation, founded Salgaduras Cerdeiras in Camelle in 1884, at a time when fish was salted in barrels for later winter consumption. In Camelle, you can still see the ruins of the sinks where it was done.

It was based in downtown Camariñas. It was later expanded and now comprises 10,000 sq m and employs some 160 people.

In 2015, Industrias Cerdeimar will become Galicia's first canning company to open its own museum. This is a project proposed for the CAG 3 Costa da Morte. The 320 sq m museum will be divided into two major areas: an exhibition area including a museum store and a tasting room and cooking workshop. It will be located in the cannery's first offices.

This exhibition space will showcase Cerdeimar's history from its early days to the late 19th century and will strengthen the company's leadership in the business network set up by the A Coruña Provincial Council.
