The Castro da Croa or Castro de Mourín, near the village of the same name, is located on the Monte da Croa, surrounded by the Rega river. Even though it is in ruins, you can still appreciate its solid walls and circular shape.

The castros are fortified enclosures dating back to the Iron Age settlements in Galicia, usually built on high, difficult to reach locations. From this hill, you could see the castro in the peninsula dividing the Area da Vila beach and Lingunde.

The Castro da Croa looks much different than in years past: two roads converge into the upper part of the castro, where the main buildings of the settlement were, and continuous agricultural work has removed the southern and western ends of the site.
