This footpath is an extension of Caión's maritime promenade, a wonderful walk linking the port and the town, with the beach area.

From here, in the section that links Caión with Baldaio (in the municipality of Carballo), the ground changes texture and becomes a natural pavement. Its design is simple, and is designed for you to enjoy the route, without worrying about its impact on the environment.

Located in a special protection area, the path is 800 metres long, which if you add to those of the maritime promenade, mean a walk of over 2 km, without losing sight of the sea.

Along the route, you will see lots of birds like seagulls, cormorants, carrion crows or great northern divers. Some are migratory and can be spotted as the Baldaio marsh is nearby, one of the most important ecosystems in Galicia.

If you look straight ahead, you will see the Sisargas islands and Malpica, another fishing village with which Caion shares its whaling past.

The path is an initiative of the Town Council of Laracha and funded by the Xunta de Galicia through the Costeira GAC3- Costa da Morte Action Group. Nowadays it has the Blue Path certificate as it joins up the beaches and ports with flags of the same colour and contribute to preserving the shoreline.
